What is the price range of your gowns?
The majority of our made to order gowns fall within the $2,000-$4,500 range. Should your budget be less than $2,000, you will have a large selection of our Sample Gown Collection ranging from $700-$1800 (Originally priced from $2500-$5500). Bridal gown samples are available in sizes 10-12 and 16-20.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. We are an appointment only salon and do not accept walk-ins. Please book your appointment online at www.thewhitegown.com or by calling 212-922-9310. Please keep in mind that weekend and evening appointments tend to book up quickly.
How long are your bridal appointments?
The standard bridal appointment is one hour.
What sizes are your samples?
We provide a variety of samples in bridal regular as well as plus size for our brides to try on. Our bridal regular sizes range between a size 8 to a size 12 and plus size 18 to 22. Please keep in mind that your bridal size is often 2 sizes larger than your street size and clips as well as modesty panels are available for the consultant to use to help you visualize how a gown will fit.
What should I bring to my bridal appointment?
We would suggest bringing the proper undergarments (like nude colored underwear and a strapless bra), no more than 3 trusted family members or friends, a smile and an open mind! You may also find it useful to come prepared with a few pictures to show your bridal consultant what you’re looking for.
Should I bring shoes?
Shoes are provided in a variety of sizes to help you visualize the full effect of the gown. Should you feel more comfortable bringing your own, you are more than welcome to.
What is the timeline like for ordering a gown?
Gowns typically take between 6-8 months from the moment your order is placed until it arrives in our salon, depending on the designer.
Do you offer in house alterations?
Yes, we do! We generally require 3 alterations appointments spread out over the 6-8 weeks leading up to the wedding. At this time, alterations are only offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Alterations are a la carte and cost depends on the type and amount of adjustments and changes required. We apologize for the inconvenience but we are not able to provide alterations on stock/sample pieces at this time.
What do I bring to my alterations appointment?
We would suggest bringing any undergarments you hope to be wearing the day of your wedding, any accessories you would like to try on with your gown and, most importantly, your wedding shoes. We are unable to proceed with your alterations appointment if you forget your shoes, as the seamstress will not be able to complete your hem, and will have to reschedule your appointment. Please remember to continue to bring your shoes to every alterations appointment.
Do you provide cleaning and preservation services?
Yes, we do! We only provide cleaning and preservation for gowns purchased through our salon. We recommend cleaning and preserving your gown as soon after the event as possible. Please contact the salon for more information.
May we bring a bottle of wine or champagne to celebrate?
To avoid spills and maintain the integrity of our samples, we ask that you do not bring in outside beverages. We are happy to provide our guests with water and highly suggest celebrating the purchase of your gown with loved ones after leaving the salon.
Do you sell bridesmaids gowns as well?
No. We do however cater to all the styling needs of the bride including gown, veil, belts, hairpieces and other accessories.
